Buckingham County Public Schools

Thanks to Dr. Keeler and the Buckingham County School Board, we were able to purchase 2 “R Zero '' units. Those professional disinfecting units are a new tool in Buckingham County Public Schools' toolbelt to fight against Covid, flu, colds, and more. We rolled this out over Thanksgiving break 2022. We will be learning how to best implement this system alongside our current cleaning program. Our first wave of effort will concentrate on the BPS classrooms and BHS classrooms with plans to do all classrooms shortly thereafter. 

We completed our professional development on Tuesday, November 22 with the R Zero Team. We feel the units are very easy to use and seem very durable. We are partnering with ABM in order to maximize our efforts. 

We have a twofold, proactive and reactive approach. We will have an avenue for the Principals to use that will alert us to areas that may need a little more cleaning and care; rooms that have a higher cold or flu concentration. 

We will also be working on a normal routine (proactive approach) of classroom disinfecting using this system. We hope that this gives us the extra level of cleaning that we are looking for.
