JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge
JROTC cadets attended JCLC at Massanutten Military Academy from June 21-26, 2022. JCLC (JROTC Cadel Leadership Challenge) is a leadership development camp designed to produce future leaders. Some of the tasks the students competed in were: Rappelling, Obstacle Course, Drownproofing, Drill and Ceremonies, Rope Bridge, CPR that also included First Aid, STEM, Day and Night Land Navigation, and Raider type tasks. Students were also rotated in many leadership positions, including Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Leader, First Sergeant, and Company Commander.

Thirty schools with 123 students were in attendance throughout Virginia and North Carolina. Their day started around 5:00 AM and finished around 10:00 PM, but they loved it. All the students represented Buckingham County professionally, as expected. Rylynn Morris was tied for the top female athlete for summer camp. The following students graduated from JCLC:
Jamal Palmer, Cameron Dews, Ben Dorrier, Luke Sayer, Alex Boyles, Rylynn Morris, and Grayson Talbott.

A special thank you goes out to Deanna Boyles for being the female Chaperone. She did a fabulous job.
