October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a time to remind ourselves that each of us has the power to make our school a kinder, more welcoming place. 💙

This Friday, October 2, we’re asking our BCHS students and staff to WEAR BLUE to show our support for bullying prevention, kindness, inclusion, and respect!

At BCHS, being a Knight means looking out for one another. A kind word, an invitation to join in, standing up for someone, or simply choosing kindness can make a bigger difference than we realize. 🫶

Let’s fill the halls with BLUE on Friday and show that our Knights choose KINDNESS! 💙💚💛

At this month’s Buckingham County School Board meeting, we were pleased to recognize the NAACP Youth Council and show our appreciation for their support of Buckingham County Public Schools students. In partnership with local churches, the Youth Council collected and donated school supplies to help ensure our students had the resources they needed to start the school year ready for success. We are grateful for young people who are making a difference in their community and for the local churches and community members who joined them in supporting our students. Thank you to the NAACP Youth Council for demonstrating leadership, service, and a commitment to our Buckingham community!

At this month’s Buckingham County School Board meeting, we were proud to recognize the Buckingham County High School JROTC Program for earning the designation of Honor Unit with Distinction for the 2025–2026 school year! This outstanding recognition reflects the hard work, leadership, discipline, and commitment demonstrated by our JROTC cadets and instructors throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of these students and their continued dedication to excellence. Please join us in congratulating our JROTC program on this well-deserved achievement!

It was a true honor to recognize Rolf Leon Jones, Jr. by presenting a resolution to his family at tonight’s Buckingham County School Board meeting. Mr. Jones’ years of dedicated service, commitment, and lasting contributions to Buckingham County Public Schools made a meaningful impact on our schools and community. We are sincerely grateful for the opportunity to honor his life and legacy, recognize his many years of service, and share this special moment with his family. His dedication to Buckingham County Public Schools will be remembered with gratitude for years to come.

This special remembrance ceremony will also recognize the first responders, service members, and community service members who dedicate themselves to protecting and serving others. ❤️🤍💙

🚒🚑🚓 We would especially love to have our local first responders, military members and veterans, law enforcement officers, healthcare and emergency personnel, and other community servants join us as our honored guests.

* Can occur in children and teens
* Needs ongoing management to stay healthy

Buckingham County Public Schools extends a special thank you to James River Equipment and the American Heart Association for their generous donation of two CPR training kits for our secondary schools! These kits will provide our students with valuable hands-on opportunities to learn lifesaving CPR skills, increase their knowledge, and build our schools’ capacity to respond in an emergency. We are grateful for community partners who invest in our students and help us build safer, stronger schools. 💚💛 Thank you for supporting our students and helping prepare them with skills that can truly save a life!
