Today, we celebrate the incredible men and women who do so much more than drive a bus.
You are the first friendly face our students see in the morning and the last smile they see at the end of the day. Your dedication helps ensure our Knights arrive safely, on time, and ready to learn—every single day.
Thank you for your patience, kindness, and for going the extra mile for our students and families.
We appreciate you today and every day! 💚💛

Come anytime during the event window that works best for you and your family—just be sure you’re through the course by 3:00 PM!
The course is about 1 mile long and can be walked or run, making it fun for all ages and abilities. All students must have an adult accompany them on the course, and any obstacles along the way can be skipped if needed.
📅 Reminder: All online orders and forms are due this Thursday, April 30th. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate on the day of the event!
We’ll have an amazing lineup of food trucks/stands on site, including Diaz Fusion, Kiss My Butt BBQ, chicken legs by David Sullivan, Hamburgers by Feedin the Soul, coffee by Coffee Nook, treats by A Little Something Sweet, and ice cream by Coach Scott! 🍔🍦☕️
Be sure to bring money for lunch and a sweet treat while you’re there!

Please join us in welcoming Sharon Pettus to Buckingham County Public Schools!
Mrs. Denise Bryant, the current Primary School principal, will remain in her role through June 30, 2026. She will assist Mrs. Pettus during her transition. Mrs. Bryant will transfer to Coordinator of Instructional Support effective July 1, 2026.
Message from Mrs. Pettus: I am incredibly honored and excited to serve as the new Principal of Buckingham Primary School. With a background in elementary education and school leadership, I am deeply committed to fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment where every child can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Throughout my career, I have focused on supporting high-quality instruction, building strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and ensuring meaningful outcomes for all learners. As an educator, this work has always been more than a career—it is truly a calling. I believe that strong relationships, high expectations, and a shared commitment to student success are the foundation of a thriving school community. I am especially excited to join a dedicated staff and partner with our students, families, and the broader community to build on the great work already happening at Buckingham Primary. On a personal note, I am a proud wife and the mother of three grown boys—roles that have shaped my perspective, strengthened my commitment to children, and deepened my understanding of the importance of education and community. I look forward to this new chapter and to working together to ensure every child at Buckingham Primary feels valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.

Your support, organization, and dedication keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. You get the job done and keep everyone on track—making a difference in our schools every single day.
We truly appreciate all that you do!
