This message serves as a reminder that on Tuesday, December 16th, and Wednesday, December 17th, regular, full schedules will be in effect. Winter Break will be from Thursday, December 18th, to Monday, January 5th. January 5th is a teacher workday, and all students and staff will return to a regular schedule on Tuesday, January 6th. Good evening BES families! We hope everyone is staying safe and warm. Due to the closure of school, we will not be hosting our Title 1 Family Engagement Night tomorrow, Tuesday, December 9th. This also impacts our Book Fair scheduled for this week. Students will have their time to visit the Book Fair during school hours adjusted based on our return. When we return to school, your child will be informed as to what time their class is scheduled to shop at the Book Fair. The Buckingham County School Board will hold a FY26-27 budget work session on Wednesday, December 3rd, at 5:00 p.m. at the Buckingham Middle School cafeteria. There will be a closed session at the end of the worksession to discuss personnel items.

The Knights' Armor Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, November 28th, due to Thanksgiving Break. The last pickup available for November will be next Friday, November 21st. As a reminder, all pickups must be scheduled on Monday through Thursday before 3:00 pm of the week of the desired pickup. Appointments requested after that will be scheduled for the next available Friday pick up.
We kindly remind families that the food pantry is intended to be a resource for genuine, temporary need or emergency support, and not a substitute for weekly, routine grocery shopping. Thank you for helping us maintain the integrity and sustainability of this vital community resource.
A Superhero 'Thank You' is extended to substitute teacher and bus driver Jordan Springer for saving the day on Thursday, November 6, 2025. Dr. Reasoner received this message from a staff member: "A student was choking at lunch, and while a staff member tried to pat their back to dislodge the food, Mr. Springer jumped in and performed the Heimlich Maneuver and successfully dislodged the food from the student's throat. The student was shaken up and scared after lunch and ended up going home. It was truly amazing that Mr. Springer was in the right place at the right time. He used his skill even though he thought he was a little rusty and potentially saved our student's life." We are grateful for Mr. Springer's prompt response, and we are extremely proud of his heroic actions! This is Team Buckingham!
