Our school is a little less full today and a little quieter. We decided that we miss the Class of 2026 too much and the school just can't carry on without them, so we made a decision to sell...
Best of luck to our graduating seniors! We can't wait to watch you walk the stage on Wednesday evening and we are so proud of you!!

The Buckingham County Public Schools has been informed that there is a measles outbreak in our community. At this time, there are no confirmed cases in our public schools, and our schools will remain open.
We are monitoring this situation very closely and have been working on a daily basis with Piedmont Health District Director Dr. Maria Almond. She has provided direct guidance to the division, and we have followed that guidance carefully. We are fully in compliance with the recommendations provided by the Health District.
Out of an abundance of caution, we began reviewing student immunization records last week. We have also been in contact with parents and guardians of students who, based on our records, may not be fully immunized and may be of higher risk of acquiring the infection. This outreach is intended to help families understand any steps they may need to take and to support the continued health and safety of our schools.
We will continue to follow guidance from public health officials, monitor developments closely, and share additional updates if there is new information that impacts our schools.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Darnesha Stith as the Elementary Assistant Principal for the 2026-2027 school year!
Message from Dr. Stith: I am excited to join the Buckingham Elementary School team as Assistant Principal. I am a dedicated educational leader with 7 years of experience serving students across various grade levels from PreK–6.
Throughout my career, I have served in multiple instructional and leadership roles, including classroom teaching and serving as a VTSS Data Analyst. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education Leadership, an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
I believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, encouraged, and inspired each day they walk through the school doors. I am excited to work alongside the students, staff, families, and community of Buckingham Elementary School to continue building a positive, supportive, and high-achieving environment where everyone can thrive. I cannot wait to begin this journey and become part of such a special school community!

We, here at BCHS, are heartbroken as we remember Mr. Rolf Jones, a pillar of our classroom and community. He gave so much of himself every day and was a friend to everyone.
Our students loved him deeply, and he loved them just as much. To honor him, they decorated his parking space as a tribute to the impact he had on their lives.
He will be missed more than words can say. Our classrooms and hearts will always have a Rolf sized hole in them.
