BCHS concluded the semester with some amazing Christmas carols from our Medford Team, and the teachers had to showcase their volleyball skills in the Student/Faculty FFA volleyball game. We hope everyone has a fantastic Winter Break and a Happy New Year!

When the BCHS JROTC isn't out there dominating the competition, they are taking care of things right here at home—these young people, along with Sgt. Grazier collected 21 bags of trash down High School Rd to the Lee Wayside Inn and is helping to keep Buckingham County beautiful.

This message serves as a reminder that on Tuesday, December 16th, and Wednesday, December 17th, regular, full schedules will be in effect. Winter Break will be from Thursday, December 18th, to Monday, January 5th. January 5th is a teacher workday, and all students and staff will return to a regular schedule on Tuesday, January 6th. The BCHS Indoor Track meet, originally scheduled for today, has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, December 11th, at 4:00 PM at Fork Union Military Academy.

Due to the impending weather, the Cookies With Santa, Bazaar, and Book Fair have been postponed until next Saturday, December 13th, from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Due to inclement weather, the Heroes Breakfast has been postponed until Tuesday, December 9th, from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM.

Due to impending weather, the SAT scheduled for Saturday, December 6th, at Buckingham County High School has been cancelled. The College Board will send an email to all registered students regarding a makeup test date.

On Monday, November 24th, FFA members from Buckingham Senior & Buckingham Middle Chapters traveled to the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex in Chatham to participate in the Virginia Agriculture Leaders Conference. Members participated in a workshop led by Ms. Tess Seibel, a former National FFA Vice President, that focused on developing leadership, public speaking, and advocacy skills. Members are prepared to communicate effectively as needed. Moreover, this opportunity prepared our students to participate in FFA Day at the Capitol, which was held on January 23rd in Richmond, Virginia. At this event, members had the opportunity to speak with their elected officials about the importance of supporting FFA, Agricultural Education, and the entire Agricultural Industry.
