💛 Happy School Social Work Week! 💛
March 1–7, 2026
This week, we proudly celebrate our incredible School Social Worker, Britney Richardson!
Britney plays a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students. Whether she is providing direct support to students, partnering with families, connecting individuals to community resources, or collaborating with staff, Britney leads with compassion, professionalism, and a heart for service.
Her work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout our entire school community. She helps remove barriers, builds strong relationships, and ensures that every student has the support they need to succeed.
Thank you, Britney, for the care, advocacy, and dedication you show our students and families each and every day. We are so grateful for you! 💙

We are excited to share a link to the amazing Black History Month program we had last week for the community to enjoy.
Mrs. Martha Bailey Brown inspired our students to never stop using the brains in their heads and the feet in their shoes. She told them even when times are hard or things seem impossible, you can always find a way to push through, stand up for what is right, and become the best you can be.

Today, BCHS welcomed Mrs. Martha Bailey Brown to share her inspiring story & words of wisdom during our Black History Month Program.
Mrs. Brown was only 12 years old when Prince Edward County Schools decided to shut down instead of integrate. She is now 79 years old and has entered back into the classroom as a Longwood University student. She encouraged our students to use the brains in their heads and feet in their shoes to go places and do big things.
We also enjoyed special music from the MR Jones Memorial Singers and a special poem, "Mother to Son," shared by the senior of the month, Jeremiah Lee.
