We are proud to announce that all Buckingham County Schools will again be participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) as implemented under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. All students enrolled at these schools will be provided a nutritious meal for breakfast and lunch each school day at no charge. Again, all students will receive meals at no charge. Please encourage your child to participate in this great program.


The Buckingham County School Board will hold a special closed meeting on Wednesday, August 2, at 3:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria of the Buckingham County Middle School. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss public contracts.

Please come and join us at the elementary school concourse area for our annual celebration of “Knights with Shining Art”. This will be a showcase of student artwork from Buckingham County Schools completed during the 2022-23 school year. The exhibition celebration will be Sunday, Aug 6, 2023, from 2-4. Light refreshments will be served.

Golf Tryouts scheduled today have been postponed until Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 3:00 PM.


Beginning July 22, 2023, eligible BCPS students will receive a one-time P-EBT benefit. Your child must have been enrolled in BCPS for in-person instruction on the last day of the 22-23 school year to be eligible. This is the last P-EBT benefit issued due to the ending of the Public Health Emergency in May 2023.


Our Buckingham CTE is one of 24 school divisions awarded a $125,000 grant. The grant is to be used towards updating and restoring the automotive program. More information is included in the QR code.


Congratulations to 2023 BCHS Graduate, Malaysia Maxey, for taking home a Bronze Medal at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference held in Denver, Colorado. There were over 4,300 participants from across the nation. Attendees were able to network, attend leadership conferences, explore career pathways, and learn from industry experts.

Every student trying out must be eligible to play under the VHSL and have a new completed physical form AFTER May 1, 2023. You must have your completed physical form turned in on the tryout day. Forms are available in the school's main office or online at VHSL.org. If you have any questions, you may contact your coach listed below.

The Buckingham JROTC Raiders completed their summer leadership training at Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Virginia. Caroline Browning and Ben Dorrier were top Female and Male Athletes in the Individual Physical Fitness Challenge and Caroline Browning was also placed on the Commandant's List.




All practices and activities for this evening, Monday, June 26, 2023, have been canceled due to the possibility of severe storms.

Due to the impending weather, Buckingham Elementary's Summer Jam program will end at 2:30 PM today. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up no later than 2:30 PM from Buckingham Elementary. School Offices will be closing at 2:30 PM as well. Thank you in advance for your understanding as we seek to get everyone home safely.

A flyer was sent out near the end of the school year informing families that the school-issued Verizon & T-Mobile hotspots would be turned off at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Options for obtaining hotspot internet services through Verizon or T-Mobile through a household personal account were included.
