Good evening BCPS Families! This message is a reminder that BCPS schools will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025, in observance of Labor Day. We wish you all a relaxing and safe holiday and look forward to seeing students and staff again on Tuesday morning.

The home JV and Varsity Volleyball games against Altavista, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, will now begin at 6:00 PM due to a transportation issue at Altavista.

FFA and 4H are working together to host a Blue Ribbon Craft Day on September 9, 2025. Students, 3rd - 8th grade, are invited. Students will create crafts that will be entered into the Five County Fair. Space is limited! 🎉 Buckingham County Public Schools Convocation 2025 🎉 What an inspiring start to the new school year! Today, we gathered as a division to celebrate the incredible work ahead and to reaffirm our shared commitment to student success. Dr. Reasoner energized us with her message centered on the Four Pillars that will guide our year: Communication, Collaboration, Transparency, and Teamwork. Her words set the tone for a year rooted in connection and collective impact. We proudly introduced and recognized our new employees across the division — welcome to the BCPS family! 💛🖤 The morning brought energy and excitement with a lively round of “Let’s Make a Deal,” where teams showed their school spirit and raffle prizes added some extra fun to the day! We were honored to have our JROTC Color Guard present the flags and thrilled to welcome a special guest appearance from Sir Knights A Lot! This year, we are united under the theme: “Every Knight. families on Friday, August 1st, for the Open House and Orientation session. A complete list of all
Open House and Orientation times are attached to this message. When you come for the Open
House, please remember the following:

Please provide updated email addresses, phone numbers, and emergency contact
information to your child’s school.

If there has been an update to your child’s medical status, which could include
medication or school recommendations from a licensed medical provider, please provide
documentation to your child’s school prior to August 6th.

If you are not already set up with a Parent Portal account, please stop by the sign-up
table at your child’s school. We will need your name and email address.

If you are in need of specific supplies or support to help prepare your child for back to school, please contact the school administrators and/or school counselors.

Tryouts for BCMS Volleyball will begin August 11, 2025, after school at the BCMS Gym.

To help us celebrate and "kick-off" Convocation and our first teacher work-day, Archer's Barbeque food truck will be at the BCMS parking lot on Wednesday, July 30th, beginning at 11:45 A.M. for lunch (for purchase- on your own). The community is welcome to join us! Archer's Barbeque's menu is attached for your convenience. Thank you for your continued support of Buckingham County Public Schools!

BCPS Family Survey 24-25 We appreciate your input as we partner with you to support your child's educational success. All survey data is anonymous and confidential. This survey will provide BCPS with information to help support division and school-wide initiatives as part of our annual needs assessment process. Please complete one survey for each child attending BCPS, especially if you have children in multiple schools. The survey should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
