Buckingham County Public Schools is currently exploring the possible unification of Buckingham Primary School and Buckingham Elementary School into one unified K-5 school at the Carter G. Woodson Complex.

We are asking for feedback from our families and community members to help inform future planning and decision-making. Your voice is an important part of this process as we consider benefits and concerns.

Buckingham County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay for all students and staff tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

We will continue to closely monitor overnight winter weather conditions. A final decision regarding any potential school closure will be made early tomorrow morning after evaluating the latest weather and road conditions.

If school remains open, after-school programs (KLIFE, BTB, and Knights Power) will operate on Wednesday, February 4, and Thursday, February 5. However, parent pickup will be required for all after-school programs on both days. Students who normally ride the bus for after-school programs must provide a parent note confirming private transportation for these dates.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff. We are excited to see our students; we have missed them!
