Admission will be $8.00 for the postseason, and only VHSL, VHSCA, VIAAA, and the Virginia School Board Association passes will be accepted. Hello BCPS Staff, Students, and Families,

The Knights' Armor Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, November 28th, due to Thanksgiving Break. The last pickup available for November will be next Friday, November 21st. As a reminder, all pickups must be scheduled on Monday through Thursday before 3:00 pm of the week of the desired pickup. Appointments requested after that will be scheduled for the next available Friday pick up.

We kindly remind families that the food pantry is intended to be a resource for genuine, temporary need or emergency support, and not a substitute for weekly, routine grocery shopping. Thank you for helping us maintain the integrity and sustainability of this vital community resource.

Mrs. Acevedo supports our students’ well-being, learning, and behavior through counseling, consultation, crisis response, and data-driven problem solving. Her calm presence and expertise help create safe, supportive schools where every Knight can thrive. Please join us in thanking Mrs. Acevedo for all she does for our students, families, and staff! 🙌

The Southeast Area Forestry Contest was held at the Buckingham-Appomattox State Forest in Buckingham, Virginia, on October 21st, 2025. The forestry contest tests the FFA members’ knowledge on tree identification, equipment identification, estimating the volume of trees, and reading topographic maps. In addition to those parts of the contest, members of the senior division had to calculate distance by pacing and reading a compass.

Two teams from Buckingham County Middle School competed. Team A placed 2nd overall with team members Madison Shifflett (3rd place individual), Nekhi Whitehead (5th place), Sage Gross (6th place), and Brantley Mills (8th place). This team’s 2nd place allows them to advance to the Virginia State Forestry Contest in April. Team B placed 4th overall with team members Owen Anderson (10th place), Ashlyn Bryant, and Chase Williams.

The Buckingham Senior Chapter had three teams compete in the contest. Team C placed 8th overall—Lucas Gilliam (1st Place Individual), Alexis Meadows, and Kaylee Staton. Team B placed 4th overall with team members Luke Llewellyn (4th Individual), Collin Snoddy, Ava Taylor, and Vaiden Taylor. Team A won the competition and will advance to the State Forestry Contest in April. Team members include Sarah Bryant (7th Individual), Ryland Carter, Ben Gilliam (5th Individual), and Bryan Haldane (2nd Individual)

Celebrate Virginia Farm to School Week, October 6–10, 2025.

October is National Farm to School Month, a time to celebrate nationwide connections between schools, early care and adult centers, and local farms! Virginians celebrate Virginia Farm to School Week during the first full week of October to kick off the month.

Farm to school enriches the connection communities have with fresh, healthy food and local food producers by changing food purchasing and education practices at schools and early care settings. Agriculture is Virginia's largest private industry, and supporting local farms increases employment opportunities and community food security while providing the freshest food for all learners.

During Virginia Farm to School Week, the "Crunch Heard' Round the Commonwealth" will make some noise for Virginia farm to school programs on Thursday, October 9. Students, families, schools, farms, education centers, and community members can learn how to build upon farm-to-school programming in their communities by visiting the Virginia Department of Education, Office of School and Community Nutrition Programs Farm to School webpage.
