On Monday, November 24th, FFA members from Buckingham Senior & Buckingham Middle Chapters traveled to the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex in Chatham to participate in the Virginia Agriculture Leaders Conference. Members participated in a workshop led by Ms. Tess Seibel, a former National FFA Vice President, that focused on developing leadership, public speaking, and advocacy skills. Members are prepared to communicate effectively as needed. Moreover, this opportunity prepared our students to participate in FFA Day at the Capitol, which was held on January 23rd in Richmond, Virginia. At this event, members had the opportunity to speak with their elected officials about the importance of supporting FFA, Agricultural Education, and the entire Agricultural Industry.

The Buckingham County School Board will hold a FY26-27 budget work session on Wednesday, December 3rd, at 5:00 p.m. at the Buckingham Middle School cafeteria. There will be a closed session at the end of the worksession to discuss personnel items.
BCHS Varsity Football will be at home this Friday, November 21st, at 7:00 PM. The BCHS Knights will play Stuarts Draft. Admission will be $8.00 for the postseason, and only VHSL, VHSCA, VIAAA, and the Virginia School Board Association passes will be accepted. All school employees and all athletes must pay now that we are in the postseason. Gate receipts go to Region 2B, but the concessions go to the SCA here at Buckingham. We hope to see you there to cheer our Knights on to victory!

The Knights' Armor Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, November 28th, due to Thanksgiving Break. The last pickup available for November will be next Friday, November 21st. As a reminder, all pickups must be scheduled on Monday through Thursday before 3:00 pm of the week of the desired pickup. Appointments requested after that will be scheduled for the next available Friday pick up.
We kindly remind families that the food pantry is intended to be a resource for genuine, temporary need or emergency support, and not a substitute for weekly, routine grocery shopping. Thank you for helping us maintain the integrity and sustainability of this vital community resource.

BCPS Families, this message serves as a reminder that the clocks will change this weekend. Please remember to "fall back" and turn your clocks back one hour. Our Transportation department would like to remind everyone riding our school buses to arrive at their designated bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled arrival time, as times may fluctuate.
The Southeast Area Forestry Contest was held at the Buckingham-Appomattox State Forest in Buckingham, Virginia, on October 21st, 2025. The forestry contest tests the FFA members’ knowledge on tree identification, equipment identification, estimating the volume of trees, and reading topographic maps. In addition to those parts of the contest, members of the senior division had to calculate distance by pacing and reading a compass.
Two teams from Buckingham County Middle School competed. Team A placed 2nd overall with team members Madison Shifflett (3rd place individual), Nekhi Whitehead (5th place), Sage Gross (6th place), and Brantley Mills (8th place). This team’s 2nd place allows them to advance to the Virginia State Forestry Contest in April. Team B placed 4th overall with team members Owen Anderson (10th place), Ashlyn Bryant, and Chase Williams.

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, the BCHS SCA will be sponsoring a Holiday Bazaar in conjunction with their annual Cookies with Santa Event. If you are interested in setting up as a Vendor, please see the link to the vendor application form. The fee for a space is $15 and includes a table and chair. The Haunted CTE is returning this year. Join us on Saturday, October 25th, from 7:15 to 9:15 PM. The entry cost is $5. Parking is in the BCHS Bus Loop. Attendees aged 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All proceeds will go to CJ Elliott. Please see the flyer for additional information

You may access the Parent Portal Login screen via the BCPS district website, https://www.bcpschools.org/.
