February is School Board Appreciation Month, and Buckingham County Public Schools proudly recognizes and thanks our dedicated BCPS School Board Members for their service, leadership, and commitment to our students, staff, and community.

This year’s VSBA theme, “From Strong Roots, Come Endless Possibilities,” reflects the vital role our School Board plays in shaping the future of education in Buckingham County. Through thoughtful decision-making, steadfast advocacy, and a shared commitment to student success, our board members help plant the seeds that allow every student to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.

We are grateful for the time, care, and leadership you provide to ensure Every Knight, Every Day has the opportunity to succeed.

Buckingham County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay for all students and staff tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

We will continue to closely monitor overnight winter weather conditions. A final decision regarding any potential school closure will be made early tomorrow morning after evaluating the latest weather and road conditions.

If school remains open, after-school programs (KLIFE, BTB, and Knights Power) will operate on Wednesday, February 4, and Thursday, February 5. However, parent pickup will be required for all after-school programs on both days. Students who normally ride the bus for after-school programs must provide a parent note confirming private transportation for these dates.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff. We are excited to see our students; we have missed them!

❄️ Winter Weather Meal Pickup – Care in Action ❄️ As we prepare for the incoming winter weather, Buckingham County Public Schools was proud to support our students and families by providing meals to ensure no child goes without during the storm. Thanks to the incredible teamwork of our cafeteria staff, maintenance team, grounds team, central office staff, and other dedicated school employees, more than 400 students received meals; prepared, packed, and delivered with care. From early morning planning to lifting boxes, organizing bags, and making sure everything ran smoothly, this effort truly showcased what it means to be a school community that takes care of its own. 💚 We are grateful for the hard work, flexibility, and heart shown by our staff, and thankful for the opportunity to serve our students when it matters most. #EveryKnightEveryDay
