Good evening. Due to a Winter Weather Advisory indicating a wintry mix of precipitation, including sleet and freezing rain during morning travel and arrival times, BCPS will operate on a 2-HOUR DELAY for TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2025 for students and all staff. This will allow our staff to evaluate road conditions in the early morning and make any necessary adjustments if need be. Bus routes and school start times will be delayed by 2 hours. Stay safe!

On Monday, November 24th, FFA members from Buckingham Senior & Buckingham Middle Chapters traveled to the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex in Chatham to participate in the Virginia Agriculture Leaders Conference. Members participated in a workshop led by Ms. Tess Seibel, a former National FFA Vice President, that focused on developing leadership, public speaking, and advocacy skills. Members are prepared to communicate effectively as needed. Moreover, this opportunity prepared our students to participate in FFA Day at the Capitol, which was held on January 23rd in Richmond, Virginia. At this event, members had the opportunity to speak with their elected officials about the importance of supporting FFA, Agricultural Education, and the entire Agricultural Industry.

Hello BCPS Staff, Students, and Families,
The Knights' Armor Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, November 28th, due to Thanksgiving Break. The last pickup available for November will be next Friday, November 21st. As a reminder, all pickups must be scheduled on Monday through Thursday before 3:00 pm of the week of the desired pickup. Appointments requested after that will be scheduled for the next available Friday pick up.
We kindly remind families that the food pantry is intended to be a resource for genuine, temporary need or emergency support, and not a substitute for weekly, routine grocery shopping. Thank you for helping us maintain the integrity and sustainability of this vital community resource.

Buckingham County Public Schools was pleased to welcome State Senator Luther Cifers for “Take Your Legislator to School Day” on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. We toured our CTE building and high school and Senator Cifers engaged with our students and teachers. We were proud to highlight our school division’s award winning programs including JROTC, Welding, Automotive Technology, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, and many others. We appreciate Senator Cifers’ offer to bring students to the State Capitol for a tour during the upcoming legislative session. We were also pleased that Mr. Karl Carter, County Administrator, and Mr. Harvey Bryant, member of the Board of Supervisors, joined us for this special event. A Superhero 'Thank You' is extended to substitute teacher and bus driver Jordan Springer for saving the day on Thursday, November 6, 2025. Dr. Reasoner received this message from a staff member: "A student was choking at lunch, and while a staff member tried to pat their back to recover them, Mr. Springer jumped in and performed the Heimlich Maneuver and successfully dislodged the food from the student's throat. The student was shaken up and scared after lunch and ended up going home. It was truly amazing that Mr. Springer was in the right place at the right time. He used his skill even though he thought he was a little rusty and potentially saved our student's life." We are thankful for Mr. Springer's quick response and we are so very proud of his heroic actions! This is Team Buckingham!
