The Horticulture Classes and Agribusiness Class at BCHS are selling roses, chocolate covered strawberries, and gifts!🌹🍓💝 Delivery is available to BCHS and BCMS students. Community members are welcome to place orders for pickup! Please preorder and prepay by February 9th by cash or check.💝🍓🌹 This project encompasses flower arrangements and business principles so please consider supporting our students.

Due to the possibility of additional winter weather and the uncertainty of its timing, the food pickup time for tomorrow, January 30th, has been changed. The families that were signed up have been notified. If additional food is available after distribution, a message will be sent with instructions on how those who missed the sign-up deadline can claim the extra items. Our goal is to maintain safety while providing for our students. Thank you for your support and understanding!

Last week, Buckingham FFA members spent the day in Richmond speaking with legislators about FFA and Agricultural Education. They were able to speak with Senator Cifers and Delegate Garrett in person. Members also had the opportunity to take a large-group photo with Governor Spanberger and approximately 900 other Virginia FFA members. Afterwards, they enjoyed a history lesson with a tour of the Capitol!

All basketball games scheduled for Friday, January 30th, against Nottoway are postponed until Tuesday, February 10th.

This alert contains two messages. Please listen carefully to the entirety of the alert.

First, Buckingham County Public Schools will offer a food distribution for two days of breakfast and lunch to support families who may need assistance.

Food pick-up will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 3:00–4:00 p.m. in the Buckingham County Middle School parking lot, with distribution taking place near the cafeteria doors.

Families who would like to receive food must complete the sign-up form by 4:00 p.m. TODAY, Wednesday, January 28, 2026. THIS IS A HARD DEADLINE. This opportunity is available to all BCPS families.

Additionally, our team is working diligently to clear parking lots and sidewalks, but secondary roads are still treacherous. As such, Buckingham County Public Schools will be closed for all students on Thursday, January 29, 2026, and Friday, January 30, 2026. 12-month employees will report at noon on both days. These will be remote/asynchronous learning days. Instructional review packets were sent home with students on Friday. ❄️ Winter Weather Meal Pickup – Care in Action ❄️ As we prepare for the incoming winter weather, Buckingham County Public Schools was proud to support our students and families by providing meals to ensure no child goes without during the storm. Thanks to the incredible teamwork of our cafeteria staff, maintenance team, grounds team, central office staff, and other dedicated school employees, more than 400 students received meals; prepared, packed, and delivered with care. From early morning planning to lifting boxes, organizing bags, and making sure everything ran smoothly, this effort truly showcased what it means to be a school community that takes care of its own. 💚 We are grateful for the hard work, flexibility, and heart shown by our staff, and thankful for the opportunity to serve our students when it matters most. #EveryKnightEveryDay

We are incredibly proud of our students for representing our school with excellence, professionalism, and creativity at the SkillsUSA District 2 competitions!

🥉 Congratulations to Daniel Flores, who placed third and earned the bronze medal in the Welding competition! We’re also excited to share that Daniel has been accepted into the Apprentice School at Newport News Shipbuilding—an outstanding achievement. Way to go, Daniel!

🥇 Congratulations to Omauria Dibble, who placed first and earned the gold medal in Cosmetology – Natural Hair Braiding! Omauria has now advanced to state-level competition in March. Best of luck as you continue to shine!

All Tuesday's and Wednesday's Basketball Games, including the Hall of Fame Induction, are POSTPONED. Tuesday's games against Central were moved to Monday, February 9th, and Wednesday's games against Fork Union and the Hall of Fame Inductions were both moved to Thursday, February 5th.

Due to the impending winter storm, Buckingham will not participate in the Fred Hardy Invitational Indoor Track meet this Saturday, January 24th.

🎉 BCHS Para-Educator of the Week 🎉

Mrs. Alberta Bolden has been recognized as our Para-Educator of the Week! She was presented with a $20 gift card for an off-campus lunch as a token of our appreciation. The award was presented today by Mr. Talley, Principal, and Mrs. Stephani Jones, Special Education Coordinator.
