🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Buckingham Elementary! 🍀 Our students had a fantastic day filled with smiles and the color green! 💚✨ We’re also excited to share moments from our 4th grade field trip to the Science Museum! 🧪🔬 Our students explored, discovered, and learned through hands-on exhibits that sparked curiosity and excitement. We’re so proud of our students for representing Buckingham Elementary so well—both in the classroom and out in the community!

Due to the forecast for severe weather including high winds and possible tornadoes, Buckingham County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow (Monday, March 16, 2026) for all students and staff. We hope everyone stays safe!

We are proud to recognize Rayasia Barbour, a senior at Buckingham County High School, for serving on the Virginia School Counselor Association (VSCA) Advisory Board We are proud of her leadership and the way she represents BCHS and our community!

Congratulations to Mr. Damon Talley for being named Administrator of the Year from the Virginia Student Councils Association at this evening’s awards banquet at Orange County High School! 💛💚🎉

Reading time is even more fun with the Buckingham Knight! 📖🛡️ Our mascot visited primary and elementary students, shared a story, and celebrated our amazing learners. Thank you, Knight, for spreading school spirit and encouraging a love for reading!

4-H presentations are officially in the books for our 4th graders! 🎉💚 So proud of all of our students for their hard work, courage, and confidence as they shared their projects. From start to finish, they showed responsibility, creativity, and growth. Some students even earned a purple ribbon earning an invite to districts next weekend! Way to represent BES and shine in front of an audience! 🌟🍀

📚✨ The Book Fair is coming to BES March 16–20! ✨📚 Get ready for some exciting stories, new adventures, and books your child will LOVE! This is the perfect opportunity to grow home libraries and inspire a lifelong love of reading. ❤️

Celebrate the joy of reading on Thursday, March 19 from 5:45–7:00 PM with dinner, a book fair, fun reading activities, and prizes. Don’t forget to RSVP by March 16 using the QR code or paper form so we can prepare enough materials and food. Let’s read together!

We were honored to present a resolution recognizing the life and legacy of Irene Stoneman Ellis and her meaningful contributions to Buckingham County Public Schools. Her dedication and commitment to our students and community made a lasting impact. The resolution was accepted by her family on her behalf, and we are grateful for the years she devoted to supporting education in Buckingham County and proud to celebrate her legacy.

Britney plays a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students. Whether she is providing direct support to students, partnering with families, connecting individuals to community resources, or collaborating with staff, Britney leads with compassion, professionalism, and a heart for service. Her work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout our entire school community. She helps remove barriers, builds strong relationships, and ensures that every student has the support they need to succeed.
