Buckingham Elementary’s 3rd-grade students are learning all about ecosystems. They are challenging themselves by using the information they are learning to keep a terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem alive in their classrooms! 🐟🌱

Great things are happening in Buckingham schools!! Buckingham County Public Schools has been awarded the Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant!

Buckingham Elementary School is starting benchmark testing tomorrow, January 9th. Please review the schedule below to determine when your student will be testing.

On Wednesday, January 28th, the BCHS Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held immediately following the JV Basketball game, around 6:30 PM. Players inducted must have graduated from BCHS at least five years ago to be eligible for the Hall of Fame. Coaches and ADs qualify at any time. The ceremony will be the first induction in over a decade. We are excited about this special night and look forward to seeing you there!

This message serves as a reminder that on Tuesday, December 16th, and Wednesday, December 17th, regular, full schedules will be in effect. Winter Break will be from Thursday, December 18th, to Monday, January 5th. January 5th is a teacher workday, and all students and staff will return to a regular schedule on Tuesday, January 6th. BCPS wishes our students, staff, and community a safe and happy holiday season!

Good evening. Our mass notification vendor is currently experiencing delays in sending out the phone calls, text messages, and emails for the two-hour delay. Their support team is currently working on it with no ETA for a resolution. This may result in these notifications going out at unusual times when the issue is fixed. Good evening! Due to extreme cold temperatures and wind chills in the morning, BCPS will operate on a 2-HOUR DELAY tomorrow (Monday, December 15, 2025) for all students and staff. This is a reminder that breakfast is not served on days with a delayed opening. We hope everyone stays safe and warm!

Good evening BES families! We hope everyone is staying safe and warm. Due to the closure of school, we will not be hosting our Title 1 Family Engagement Night tomorrow, Tuesday, December 9th. This also impacts our Book Fair scheduled for this week. Students will have their time to visit the Book Fair during school hours adjusted based on our return. When we return to school, your child will be informed as to what time their class is scheduled to shop at the Book Fair. We apologize for any inconvenience but we want all families to stay safe and we cannot wait to see our students upon our return.
