PATRIOT DAY 2026 | WE REMEMBER. WE HONOR. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
Today, Buckingham County High School students, staff, and members of our community came together for a special Patriot Day Celebration to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor those who answered the call to serve, and recognize the men and women who continue to serve and protect our communities each day.
🎶 Mrs. Patricia Ayers beautifully performed our National Anthem, helping us begin the ceremony in a truly fitting way.
We were honored to hear meaningful remarks from Joseph Marsh, Nicci Edmondston, Sergeant Jonathan Glascock, and Matthew Hall, as well as our Superintendent, Dr. Cynthia Reasoner, and BCHS Principal, Mr. Damon Talley.
A particularly special moment came when Matthew Hall presented BCHS with an American flag that was flown at the Capitol this year. We are incredibly grateful for this meaningful gift and will proudly cherish it as a reminder of the values of service, sacrifice, unity, and patriotism.
We were also honored to be joined by members of our Buckingham County School Board, Buckingham County Board of Supervisors, our local volunteer fire departments, local veterans, Buckingham County Sheriff's Department, and Buckingham County Emergency Services. Thank you for taking the time to stand alongside our students and staff—and, more importantly, for all you do for Buckingham County throughout the year. ❤️🤍💙
Days like today remind us that September 11 is not only a day to look back, but also a day to teach future generations about courage, sacrifice, service, unity, and the importance of remembering.
To everyone who helped make today's ceremony so meaningful, thank you.
We remember those we lost.
We honor those who served.
We thank those who continue to serve.
We will never forget.

In partnership with local churches, the Youth Council collected and donated school supplies to help ensure our students had the resources they needed to start the school year ready for success.
We are grateful for young people who are making a difference in their community and for the local churches and community members who joined them in supporting our students.

🎾💚💛 A NEW CHAPTER FOR LADY KNIGHTS TENNIS! 💛💚🎾
What an exciting day for Buckingham County High School and our Lady Knights Tennis program!
After a severe storm ruined our tennis courts last year, today we had the privilege of officially celebrating their return with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for our beautiful NEW tennis courts! 🎉🎀✂️
BCHS Principal Mr. Talley had the honor of cutting the ribbon and was joined by members of our School Board, Buckingham County Board of Supervisors, our Superintendent, and several of our Lady Knights tennis players as we celebrated this wonderful addition to our school and athletic program.
These courts represent so much more than a place to play. They represent resilience, community support, new opportunities, and a fresh start for our student-athletes. 💚
We are incredibly excited to see our Lady Knights step onto these courts, make memories, compete, and represent Buckingham for many years to come! 🎾✨
Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible, Special Touch Florist for the beautiful ribbon, and to those who joined us today to celebrate!
The courts are ready… LET’S PLAY TENNIS! 💚💛🎾

Buckingham County Public Schools extends a special thank you to James River Equipment and the American Heart Association for their generous donation of two CPR training kits for our secondary schools!
These kits will provide our students with valuable hands-on opportunities to learn lifesaving CPR skills, increase their knowledge, and build our schools’ capacity to respond in an emergency.
We are grateful for community partners who invest in our students and help us build safer, stronger schools. 💚💛
Thank you for supporting our students and helping prepare them with skills that can truly save a life!

Congratulations to our 2026-2027 Buckingham County School Board Student Liaisons, Nikayshia Bolden and Ava Taylor!
