Buckingham County Public Schools will be closed for all students and staff on Monday, January 26, 2026. It will be an asynchronous learning day. Instructional review packets were sent home with students on Friday. Teachers and other staff will be available through email from 11 AM to 12 noon for students in need of extra support, assuming we have power and internet access. ❄️ Winter Weather Meal Pickup – Care in Action ❄️
As we prepare for the incoming winter weather, Buckingham County Public Schools was proud to support our students and families by providing meals to ensure no child goes without during the storm.
Thanks to the incredible teamwork of our cafeteria staff, maintenance team, grounds team, central office staff, and other dedicated school employees, more than 400 students received meals; prepared, packed, and delivered with care.
From early morning planning to lifting boxes, organizing bags, and making sure everything ran smoothly, this effort truly showcased what it means to be a school community that takes care of its own. 💚
We are grateful for the hard work, flexibility, and heart shown by our staff, and thankful for the opportunity to serve our students when it matters most.

On Wednesday, January 28th, the BCHS Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held immediately following the JV Basketball game, around 6:30 PM. Players inducted must have graduated from BCHS at least five years ago to be eligible for the Hall of Fame. Coaches and ADs qualify at any time. The ceremony will be the first induction in over a decade. We are excited about this special night and look forward to seeing you there!

Yesterday morning, our team identified an HVAC issue affecting our primary school. Our service partner, Honeywell, has been on site working to diagnose and repair the problem. While progress has been made, the issue has not yet been fully resolved.
Crews will continue working through the night, and we are hopeful the system will be fully operational by the morning. Out of an abundance of caution, we recommend that students come to school tomorrow with an extra jacket or gloves, just in case temperatures fluctuate.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
