The home JV and Varsity Volleyball games against Altavista, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, will now begin at 6:00 PM due to a transportation issue at Altavista.
FFA and 4H are working together to host a Blue Ribbon Craft Day on September 9, 2025. Students, 3rd - 8th grade, are invited. Students will create crafts that will be entered into the Five County Fair. Space is limited! Our awesome Buckingham County Grounds Crew, led by Marquis Couch, and supported by David Jones and Jeremy Miller, have done an outstanding job of getting us prepared all summer for our Friday night Season Opener football game against Madison County! Makes me proud that these guys are part of our team. This group quietly goes about their business, and makes things happen. I can almost smell the hotdogs in the concession stand and feel the anticipation of kick off. Love this time of year."
We look forward to seeing everyone at the game on Friday. Kick-off is at 7:00 P.M.

September is Attendance Awareness Month. Buckingham County Elementary School is promoting a poster palooza to help raise awareness of the importance of good attendance. Posters are due by September 12th. See the flyer for poster requirements and additional information.

Ms. Holman does an excellent job with her crew. They have been short-staffed all week and have managed to get the job done anyway!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6th is our first day of school. School start times have not changed from last year. Doors open at 7:45 A.M. for students. Both breakfast and lunch continue to be offered free for all students. If you are in need of school supplies for your child, please contact your child’s principal or school counselor. School buses in the afternoon may run a little later than usual because teachers and students are learning bus routes and dismissal routines. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. If you have a question regarding bus transportation, please contact the Bus Garage at (434) 969-6100 extension 183.
Our theme for this school year is Every Knight, Every Day, the Buckingham Way! We look forward to partnering with families, encouraging participation in school activities, and working with you to ensure that every Knight, every day, is successful this year.
