Due to the uncertainty of tomorrow's potential weather event, BCPS is not making any decision regarding a possible delay or school closure until after 5 AM tomorrow morning, Friday, December 12th. Good Evening! Due to forecasted snowy conditions and freezing temperatures, BCPS will be CLOSED tomorrow, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2025 for all students and staff.
The Code of Virginia states that the standard school year shall be 180 instructional days or 990 instructional hours. It is early December with many weeks of winter ahead of us. It is important that we try and make up instructional hours as we go along, when we have opportunities to do so. Last night the School Board approved two modifications to our instructional calendar, based on anticipated inclement weather.
1. Tuesday, December 16, 2025 is now a full school day. Wednesday, December 17, 2025 will remain a half-day for students.
2. *IF* we miss any additional time prior to the start of Winter Break, then Monday, January 5, 2026 will become a full school day.

Good evening. Due to a Winter Weather Advisory indicating a wintry mix of precipitation, including sleet and freezing rain during morning travel and arrival times, BCPS will operate on a 2-HOUR DELAY for TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2025 for students and all staff. This will allow our staff to evaluate road conditions in the early morning and make any necessary adjustments if need be. Bus routes and school start times will be delayed by 2 hours. Stay safe!

On Monday, November 24th, FFA members from Buckingham Senior & Buckingham Middle Chapters traveled to the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex in Chatham to participate in the Virginia Agriculture Leaders Conference. Members participated in a workshop led by Ms. Tess Seibel, a former National FFA Vice President, that focused on developing leadership, public speaking, and advocacy skills. Members are prepared to communicate effectively as needed. Moreover, this opportunity prepared our students to participate in FFA Day at the Capitol, which was held on January 23rd in Richmond, Virginia. At this event, members had the opportunity to speak with their elected officials about the importance of supporting FFA, Agricultural Education, and the entire Agricultural Industry.
