Buckingham Preschool wore our boots to school and celebrated Agriculture Literacy Week!

Thank you to BCHS FFA for reading “Farm Boots” to our students and to Buckingham Farm Bureau for donating a copy of this book to each class! 🌾💛

Yesterday, BCMS agriculture class and FFA members read "Farm Boots" to second-grade classes at Buckingham Primary School. This event was held in partnership with Buckingham Farm Bureau and the Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom program. BCMS FFA members read to help promote National Agriculture Literacy Week and share the importance of agriculture at a young age. Thank you, BCMS, for being awesome role models for our young Knights! 💚

The Knights' Armor Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, April 3rd, due to the start of Spring Break. To ensure individuals can access the pantry before the week-long closure, we will offer a pantry pickup on Wednesday, April 1st. Appointments for this pickup must be made by Monday, March 30th. Saturday was World Down Syndrome Day 💙💛

Friday, our BCHS students came together to recognize and celebrate this important day, showing support, spreading awareness, and embracing what makes every individual unique.

World Down Syndrome Day is observed on March 21 (3/21) to mark the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. It’s a day to celebrate inclusion, advocate for equal opportunities, and highlight the abilities and contributions of people with Down syndrome worldwide.

Did you know:
• Down syndrome is the most common chromosomal condition
• It occurs in about 1 in every 700 births in the United States
• People with Down syndrome can lead fulfilling lives—attending school, working, building relationships, and contributing meaningfully to their communities
