Students and families will learn about:

The 4th Brigade Best of the Best Raider Competition was held at Fort Bragg, NC, on March 14, 2026. The Female Team defeated teams from North Carolina, Maryland, and South Carolina and was named the 4th Brigade Best of the Best Raider Champions. The Male Team placed 3rd overall out of 10 Teams, from Maryland, South Carolina, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina.
This meet was a Raiders Nationals Qualifier, and BCHS JROTC qualified two teams for the Raider Nationals, to be held in October at Fort Knox, KY. Below are links to videos of the two teams competing in the rope bridge portion of the competition. Our teams placed first in this event, which is extremely difficult at this level.

The BCHS Girls Tennis match at Randolph-Henry scheduled for today has been postponed until April 1st due to low temperatures.

The Buckingham County School Board will hold a joint FY26-27 budget work session with the Buckingham County Board of Supervisors on Wednesday, March 18th, at 6:00 p.m., at the Buckingham County Administration Building. Immediately following the budget work session, the school board will hold a closed session to discuss personnel.

Due to the forecast for severe weather including high winds and possible tornadoes, Buckingham County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow (Monday, March 16, 2026) for all students and staff. We hope everyone stays safe!

Academy Day 2026
Senator Mark Warner invites high school and middle school students, their parents or guardians, and school counselors to Academy Day 2026.
The event includes a seated program that will provide a comprehensive overview of the United States service academies and their admission processes. Information will also be shared regarding application procedures for congressional nominations and other military-related options that exist at higher education institutions in Virginia.
Following the program, attendees will be able to meet with officials from all five academies as well as representatives from Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Richmond, ROTC programs at the University of Virginia, the United States Marine Corps, the Virginia Military Institute, the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, the Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership at Mary Baldwin University, and the University of Mary Washington at their resource tables. Staff from Virginia congressional offices will also be available to answer questions.
As the event concludes, the University of Mary Washington will be offering campus tours. To participate, please meet at their resource table at 1:30 pm.

We were honored to present a resolution recognizing the life and legacy of Irene Stoneman Ellis and her meaningful contributions to Buckingham County Public Schools. Her dedication and commitment to our students and community made a lasting impact. The resolution was accepted by her family on her behalf, and we are grateful for the years she devoted to supporting education in Buckingham County and proud to celebrate her legacy.
